Life After Hurricane Dorian

All our lives here in Abaco were forever changed on September 1st, 2019, by the most devastating hurricane to ever pass through The Bahamas and North Atlantic - Hurricane Dorian. As a school community, we have experienced tremendous loss - from that of lives and all earthly possessions to our school building itself.

Our heart and prayers are with all of you parents and students that are mourning the loss of loved ones. We sympathise with those of you who are homeless, and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Our prayers are with our dear students who can't seem to stop reliving such a traumatising experience.

We know that many of you are trying to get some semblance of a life back together for you and your children and we want you to know that as soon as we are in a position to do so, we will provide the refunds to the parents that paid toward their tuition, books and lab fees. Please email us at info@longbayschool.org leaving us the name of your child/children and the name that we should write on the cheque.

We are affiliated with Bahamas Academy in Nassau and Grand Bahama Academy in Grand Bahama, we can also forward your payments to those schools.

We are working to restore the school building as soon a possible also and striving to make scholarship options for our some of our most destitute students once school reopens. Continue to view the school website periodically as we plan to upload the restoration progress and eventually the re-open date.

Please let us know (by email: info@longbayschool.org) if you planning on sending your child/children back once school reopens.

Let us continue to have faith in God remembering in these trying times that "..faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1

God bless you all.
